World Health Organization director Tedros Adhanom said the delta mutant is evolving rapidly and has swept 104 countries so far, and is expected to become the dominant mutant in the world soon.
Adhanom explained at a press conference yesterday (Monday) that the number of HIV infections is high for the fourth consecutive week in 6 of the organization’s regions, as well as the number of deaths.
He expected the delta mutator to soon become widespread around the world, noting the worsening health emergency of the pandemic, putting lives and livelihoods at risk.
He stressed that it is not sure that the countries which think they have come out of the crisis really control the situation in front of the delta axis.
