The governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, Jamal Nour El-Din, confirmed today, Sunday, that the health department of the governorate has carried out a medical examination of 163,858 children and women, including 114,390 newborns, as part of the audiology initiative, and performed examinations for 49,468 pregnant women.
In a statement released today, the governor praised the efforts of the medical teams participating in the campaigns, under the supervision of Dr Sawsan Salam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health in Kafr El-Sheikh.
For his part, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Kafr El-Sheikh explained that children are being screened as part of the 100 million Seha initiative for the early detection of hearing loss and hearing impairment. , pointing out that if a child was diagnosed with hearing loss, the examination would be repeated after a week and after confirmation, the child would be transferred to the referral clinic for completion.
She added that the medical teams, at the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic to support the health of the mother and the fetus, have provided a medical service since last November until now, in the aim to achieve a generation of healthy children free from diseases transmitted from mother to fetus, and reducing deaths resulting from these diseases Pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth for the early detection of various infectious diseases transmitted from mother to fetus and all diseases that can affect the health of the fetus to prevent its transmission and detect diabetes and pressure for pregnant women. She explained that it was ensured that the medical clinics and examination places were equipped and that medical equipment was available, directing the medical teams towards the privacy of the examination places, the confidentiality of the results, the right treatment. women, and a warm welcome for those reluctant to the presidential initiative. .
She stressed that the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health aims for a medical examination for pregnant and non-Egyptian women in the towns and villages of the governorate in the age group above 18 years old, between education, awareness and medical examination by team trained in examination work, comprising doctors, nurses, data collectors and rural pioneers, numbering 118.
