Who is Cheikh Bandar Balila?
He is Bandar bin Abdulaziz bin Siraj bin Abdul Malik Balila. He was born in Makkah Al-Mukarramah in the year 1395 AH, and there he studied all levels of education, from the Othman bin Affan school, through the model school in the capital, Talha bin Obaid Allah School , and ending at Umm Al-Qura University where he studied Sharia Science and graduated in 1417 AH.
After graduating, he completed his postgraduate studies at the same university, and the subject of his master’s thesis was: “The issues on which Ibn Qudamah recounted the consensus, and in which he denied knowledge of the dispute in his book Al-Mughni from the beginning of the Book of Prayer, until the Last Book of Forgetting, a collection and a study.
After that, he moved to Medina to obtain a doctorate from the Islamic University, and the subject of his thesis was on the study of the writing of Abi Nasr Ibn Al-Sabbagh, “Al Shamil fi Fara ‘al- Shafi’iyyah “.
Sheikh Balila worked as a collaborating professor of jurisprudence at the Holy Mosque of Mecca in 1431 AH, and member of the Committee for the reform of this difference, and member of the delegate for appeal and guidance in the Al-Rusaifah district in Mecca. , and member of the Committee for the maintenance of mosques and their employees in the Mecca region.
He has also been appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Sharia Law of the College of Sharia and Rules of Taif University so far, and has assumed leadership and rhetoric in a number of mosques in Mecca.
In 1434 AH he was commissioned to lead the faithful in Tarawih prayers at the Great Mosque of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and in the month of Dhul-Hijjah of the same year he was appointed on a continuous basis.
He received legal knowledge from a group of academics, such as the Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, and a member of the Council of Academics, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti, and others.
One of the most prominent situations he was exposed to at night was an attempt by a citizen in his forties to storm the pulpit of the Grand Mosque in Mecca last May, while Sheikh was delivering the sermon.
