Hashmin Moussa deliberately scored two goals in his own net, in his team’s Inter Ales game against Ashanti Gold in the Ghana Football League in order to foil an alleged plot to rig match results.
Hachemin did not start the game but after entering the second half he scored two goals in his own net before his club lost the game by an unanswered seven in the last round of the Ghanaian Premier League.
Interestingly, Inter coach Ales replaced Hashmin before the game was over, so as not to add more goals to his own net.
After the match was over, the player admitted that he had deliberately scored both goals in his own net, in order to thwart what he believed to be a pre-established result, for betting reasons.
“After the game my team praised the mess of the betting process. I promised the coach that if he allowed me to enter the stadium I would foil this plot,” Hachemin said in reported comments. by local media.
He continued, “I heard at the hotel that a bet was made for a 5-1 result against my team. I decided to spoil this bet because I don’t endorse these things.”
In an official statement, the Ashanti Gold team denied participating in any betting process on the match, while the Ghana Football Association said it would open an investigation into the matter.
This match was played in advance for Inter Ales, who had confirmed their relegation to the second division several rounds ago.
