Today, Wednesday, Ambassador of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques in Indonesia, Issam Al-Thaqafi, said the situation in Indonesia in recent times has reached a climax, with more than 50,000 people infected with Corona last week, and the deaths of 1,000 cases a day, and that the authorities imposed very strict measures in all regions.
He explained, during his speech to Al-Ikhbariya channel, that the decision to prevent citizens from traveling to Indonesia came in the interest of the safety and health of the Saudi citizen, noting that since trips were allowed on the last Shawwal, hundreds of Saudis flocked to Indonesia to visit and work, some of them returned to the Kingdom and many are still there.
The ambassador added that the embassy is following the conditions of the citizens here, and 8 of them have contracted corona, and the embassy is monitoring their situation, and medical evacuation requests have been approved for some cases, and they will be evacuated on the arrival of the planes, and that communication with the citizens continues here, for their rapid return to the Kingdom.
He pointed out that there are two scheduled return flights, the first will be next Monday and the second on August 1, and that the embassy’s emergency phone is working 24 hours a day, to receive requests for return of citizens, and if there is a need for other planes, coordination will be made with Saudi Airlines and the Kingdom authorities.
It should be noted that the Interior Ministry today announced the ban on direct and indirect movement of citizens in Indonesia, until the epidemiological situation stabilizes there.
