In the sky of the Arab world, the moon is in the full moon phase today, Friday, the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha and the third day of Al-Tashreeq, when it will be illuminated at 99.7 % by sunlight and visible everywhere. the night.

The Jeddah Astronomical Society explained that the moon will appear from the southeast horizon at sunset and its apparent size will be large when it is close to the horizon and its color is red-orange, and its trajectory in the night sky will resemble the trajectory of the January sun across the daytime sky, so the moon will not be observed in the northernmost regions of the ball. Earth at all, because the July full moon, like the January sun, is too south over the dome of the sky to be seen from northern latitudes.

The association added, on its official Facebook page, that the moon will reach the highest point in the sky around midnight, tilting south, and set on the southwest horizon with the sunrise on Saturday.

She indicated that in general we can say that the moon is full all night, but scientifically we call the full moon when it is 180 degrees facing the sun and it will happen on the morning of Saturday July 24 at 5:36 a.m. Saudi Arabia (02:36 GMT) Half of its orbit around Earth will be cut off during the month.

And she continued: This time of the month is great for seeing the radioactive craters on the moon’s surface using binoculars or a small telescope, unlike the rest of the land which looks flat due to the entire moon falling. under the sun. Kilometers These craters are believed to be newly formed and the “Ticho” crater is considered the most radiant crater.

Over the coming nights, the moon will rise late by about an hour each day, and after a few days it will only be visible in the dawn and the sky in the early morning, and at that time it will reach the last quarter stage after a week of the full moon phase.
