Zakat, the tax and customs administration succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle more than 2.14 million Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a shipment of “tomato paste” received by the port of Haditha.
The authority explained that a shipment received by the port of Al-Haditha consisted of cartons of “tomato paste”, transported on one of the trucks, and when it was submitted to customs procedures and examined by means of X-ray machines, the seized quantity of tablets was found, industrially hidden, inside the lids of the “tomato paste” cans. .
She added that the lids of the “tomato paste” cans were hollowed out for the purpose of smuggling the pills, indicating that the necessary regulatory action was taken after the contraband seized.
It should be noted that the donkey succeeded at the end of June in thwarting an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of Captagon pills, amounting to more than 4.5 million pills, which were found hidden in a batch of “oranges” received by the Islamic port of Jeddah.
