Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said today, Monday, that the first episode of what he described as the Arab Normalization Festival with Israel was over; To reveal what the Palestinians have warned about US policy, which seeks to besiege and restrain the Palestinian leadership and people politically, economically and financially, as he put it.

Shtayyeh accused the US administration of putting pressure on Arab countries; prevent it from fulfilling its obligations to the Palestinians.

Shtayyeh said in his speech at the start of the weekly government session in Ramallah that US President Donald Trump admitted to cutting aid to the Palestinians and preventing some Arab countries from meeting their obligations to them.

He stressed that this policy aims to put pressure on the Palestinian leadership, blackmail them and force them to exchange rights for money.

He continued, “The owner of the right is strong, and anyone who has the will and belief in his homeland and adheres to his land, does not negotiate with it for money.”

Shtayyeh praised those he called “the Arabs who believe in Palestine, its right, its freedom and the independence of its people, states and peoples.”

Last Thursday, the “Israel Today” newspaper, close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, quoted US Ambassador David Friedman as saying that Washington was considering replacing sacked Fatah leader Muhammad Dahlan with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

But the newspaper returned about 9 hours later, and modified the statement, and made him deny that Washington intended to change the Palestinian leadership.

But the Palestinian leadership ignored Friedman’s “modification” and violently attacked him.

The UAE and Bahrain rushed to sign deals aimed at normalizing relations with Israel recently, a move that angered Palestinian leaders as well as the Arab street.

Yesterday, the State of Qatar renewed its firm position on the Palestinian question and affirmed its support for the Palestinian people until their rights are realized.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune also said yesterday that Algeria will not bless and participate in what he called “the race for normalization”.

Tebboune added, in a television interview broadcast on state television, that the Palestinian cause for the Algerian people is a “sacred cause” and “the mother of all problems”.
