American comedian Jackie Mason has died at the age of 93.
Meissen was a rabbi before getting involved in the arts in the 1950s. He was known for his commentaries on community affairs, his talk show appearances, and his solo performances on Broadway.
Mason has won numerous awards over the course of his career, including a Tony Award and an Emmy for his voice as Christy’s Clown Father in The Simpsons animated series.
Many actors around the world have expressed their condolences on the death of the star via social networks.
“It was truly one of the most entertaining shows I have ever seen,” actor Henry Winkler said on Twitter. “Thanks Jackie, now you can make him laugh in Heaven.”

Jackie Mason was born Jacob Mazza in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on June 9, 1928. He moved with his family to New York City at the age of five.
His father and three great-grandfathers were all rabbis, he was ordained a rabbi after graduating from college and began leading Jewish congregations in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Many non-Jews attended church gatherings to hear his sermons because he told many jokes, Mason told the Chicago Tribune. He quit his job as a rabbi and turned to comedy after his father died in the late 1950s.
Mason was famous for his New York Jewish accent and jokes that focused on puns, exposure, and sometimes jokes that violate social or political correctness.
He once joked, “Eighty percent of married men who cheat live in America. The rest live in Europe.
Mason, a registered member of the Republican Party, spoke in the last days of his life to defend US President Donald Trump. He was also resolutely pro-Israel.
Mason was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York two weeks ago and died there on Saturday.
Mason was married to Jill Rosenfeld and had a daughter, Sheba.
