Sheikh Al-Khathlan clarifies decision A member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Dr Saad Al-Khathlan, answered a question regarding the ruling regarding a woman who entered into a marriage contract without her guardian, after her family refused to marry her to whomever they wanted .

He explained, during his meeting on the program “Istiftoonak” on the Al-Resala channel, that most academics considered that the marriage contract of a woman without a guardian is invalid, noting that one of the conditions of validity of marriage is the presence of a guardian for the woman.

He added that this woman must repent before Almighty God, and renew the marriage with the presence of a guardian and two witnesses.
