Saudi national football team left Tokyo Games with loss to Brazil

The Saudi team left soccer competition at the Tokyo Olympics after suffering their third loss today, Wednesday, to Brazil, 1-3, for the final round of Group D competitions.

Brazil took the lead in the 14th minute thanks to Mateus Konia, who turned his colleague Claudinho’s cross with a header into the net against the Saudi keeper.

And in the 28th minute, Saudi defender Abdulelah Al-Omari scored the equalizer, when he returned his colleague Salman Al-Faraj’s cross with a header to mark the Brazilian team.

The Brazilian team stepped up their attacks in the second half, and managed to score two goals thanks to star and top scorer Richarlison, in the 76th and 90th minutes.

In the other Group D match, Côte d’Ivoire accompanied Brazil to the quarter-finals, after a 1-1 draw against Germany.

With these results, the Brazilian team tops the group standings with 7 points, to qualify as first in the group, followed by Côte d’Ivoire, with 5 points, while the German (4 points) and Saudi teams (zero points) say goodbye to early competition.
