Yesterday (Friday), the Department of Human Resources and Social Development confirmed that the worker has the right to take breaks while working.
The ministry added that the worker also has the right to keep his official documents, as part of the Ma’an initiative to combat human trafficking.
He indicated that the offenses of trafficking in persons punishable by law include depriving the worker of his personal documents, employing the worker without periods of rest, verbal or physical violence or discrimination, failure to provide a suitable housing for the worker, delaying workers’ wages or billing them with illegal sums of money.
She called on everyone to take the initiative to report through the Ma’an monitoring app, or by calling (19911), or sending a message through her website.
