During the electoral campaign, which he led from a modest office in an old building in the center of the capital, he did not appear in large popular gatherings, did not hang large banners in his image in the streets, and did not wandered around in his car in a number of cities to meet citizens in cafes and popular markets, after rejecting public funding for presidential candidates, considering that it was “public money and right of the Tunisian people only ”.
