Security authorities arrested a citizen infected with the “Corona” virus after violating isolation guidelines and wandering around a commercial market.
Hail Police spokesperson Captain Tariq Al-Nassar confirmed that this is a reference to the video clip circulating on social media of a person wandering around a shopping complex after ‘he was confirmed to be infected with “Corona”, and violating isolation and quarantine instructions, documenting and publishing this, as the relevant police authority was able to determine the identity of the injured and the photographer who released the clip, and stop them.
Al-Nassar added that the two arrested were citizens in their 30s and that initial legal action had been taken against them and referred to the prosecution.
He pointed out that the penalties for violators of the precautionary and preventive measures taken to deal with the Corona pandemic for anyone who deliberately transmits the infection to others, the imposition of a fine not exceeding 500 000 riyals or imprisonment not exceeding 5 years, or a fine and imprisonment together.
And when the offense is repeated, the penalty imposed the previous time is doubled, and in the event that the aforementioned offense was pronounced against a non-Saudi individual, he is punished with expulsion from the Kingdom and a definitive ban on entry after the execution of the sentence imposed on him, it being understood that the application of the penalties provided for does not prejudge any other penalty or legally prescribed regime.
