The France team ended the adventure of its Egyptian counterpart in the semi-finals of handball competitions, as part of the Olympic Games currently taking place in Tokyo, by beating it today, Thursday, 27-23 .
The first half ended in a tie between the two teams, on the score of (13-13), before the team of the “roosters” accelerates the pace in the second half and decides on the outcome of the match in their favor.
The France team is playing the last game of the Olympics for the fourth time in a row, as they have already won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and 2012 in London, while they came second and won the medal silver at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
On the other hand, the Egyptian team still have a chance to win the first Olympic medal in their history when they play in the match for third place for the bronze medal on Saturday.
In the final, the French team await the winner of the confrontation which will bring together Spain and Denmark later in the day, while the Egyptian team, defeated in the aforementioned match, awaits the match for the bronze medal.
Note that Egypt became the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals of the handball competition at the Summer Olympics, after beating Germany 31-26 in the quarter-finals last Tuesday.
