WhatsApp has finally announced the ability to transfer message history and content between Android and iOS.
The feature was officially announced yesterday at the “Unpacked” event, hosted by “Samsung”. The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 will be the first to allow it, according to gsmarena.
The feature will be rolled out gradually to Samsung devices running Android 10 or higher, and then rolled out to all other Android and iPhone devices “in the coming weeks.”
There’s no clear timeline for implementing this new option, but it looks like Samsung has been pulling the strings to maintain exclusivity in hopes of finally persuading iPhone users to switch to Samsung.
WhatsApp did not specify when Android users will be able to transfer data to iPhones.
Cat transfer will be possible when iOS and Android devices are physically connected via the USB-C to Lightning cable which is conveniently included with all modern iPhones.
