Al-Marsad Journal: The Ministry of Health revealed, in the vaccine exceptions guide (Covid 19) for the month of Muharram 1443, 4 diseases that may require delaying the intake of the Corona vaccine. Noting that no one is deprived of the protection provided by the vaccine except for a real reason, and that the medical exception is the beneficiary’s exemption from taking Covid vaccines for reasons of safety and effectiveness.
The ministry explained that the contraindications excluded to taking vaccines (Covid 19) are hypersensitivity or acute sensitivity to the vaccine (after the first dose) and hypersensitivity to one of the known components of the vaccine, which currently includes “polyethylene glycol (PEG”) in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and “polysorbate” in the AstraZeneca vaccine. And the possibility of cross-sensitivity between “PEG” and “polysorbate” up to 20%.
The ministry added, during the guide, that the justifications for the postponement (Covid 19) of the vaccines (the temporary exception) are the state of health of the beneficiary, which can make the vaccine ineffective, according to the opinion of the specialist doctor. Examples include cancer patients who are currently receiving intensive chemotherapy and immunorheumatic diseases and the like, who are currently receiving biological immunosuppressive drugs.
She pointed out that the condition of the recipient can make the possibility of complications of the disease after taking the vaccine high, according to the specialist’s opinion, and that it is difficult to determine the cause. Examples include people with rare or unstable immune diseases and a high-risk pregnancy with repeated miscarriages.
