Follow-up – Rana Youssef
Much has been said recently about the asteroid “Bennu”, as scientists expect it to collide with Earth within a few years.
And heightened scientific debate on this devastating asteroid. US space agency “NASA” has confirmed that asteroid “Bennu” will approach Earth in 2135, noting that the asteroid will be half the distance between Earth and the Moon, according to Sputnik.
The agency reassured anxious souls, indicating that a collision between the asteroid and Earth would occur by the year 2300.
The possibility of an asteroid colliding with Earth is still very low, but other sources have raised concerns due to the existence of some catastrophic scientific theories.
And NASA shared the results of a study titled “The Astronomical Calendar and Risk Assessment of a Near-Earth Asteroid.”
Scientists were able to obtain results indicating that in the year 2300 it is possible for the collision to occur, but at a rate of 0.057%, using modern devices.
important date
Scientists have pointed out that the date of September 24 in the year 2182 is considered the important date in terms of the possible impact of this asteroid on Earth.
NASA also said that although the chances of the asteroid colliding with Earth are very low, it is considered one of the most dangerous asteroids in our solar system, along with another asteroid called 1950 DA.
