Amid scenes of chaos at the airport, US President Joe Biden defended his handling of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“The idea that there was a possibility of going out without creating chaos… I don’t know how that came to be,” he told ABC News on Wednesday.
Biden added that US forces may have to stay in Afghanistan beyond the Aug. 31 deadline agreed with the Taliban to help with evacuations.
