The Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries Company, has signed an agreement with the Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research, to manufacture, produce and modernize the “Sky Guard” unmanned aircraft system .
The aircraft is a tactical aircraft, and it is multitasking and capable of observation and reconnaissance, and its take-off and landing operations are controlled automatically through the operating room and mobile communication room.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of Advanced Electronics Company, Engineer Ziad Al-Musallam, and the Managing Director of the Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research, Dr Sami Al-Hamidi.
Engineer Al-Musallam said that this agreement supports the Kingdom’s defense and security guidelines, improves local content and develops national frameworks, and we look forward to, through this cooperation, helping to achieve leadership in a manner that responds to the Kingdom’s ambitions in the field of defense in accordance with the goals of Vision 2030.
For his part, Dr Sami Al-Hamidi explained that all stages of the design and local manufacture of the aircraft are self-powered in the applied research laboratories of the Prince Sultan Center in Riyadh, and this agreement marks the beginning of the transition from research and testing stage to manufacturing and quantitative production stage.
