The details of the rare incident are due to the discovery of a girl, after 35 years, that she lived in a poor family, different from her in race and color, married to their parents and gave birth, and that she was originally born to a wealthy family, due to a mistake made by a public hospital that handed her over to something other than her family.
According to Al-Watan, during these years, the girl felt doubts and suspicions because of the different color of her skin, as she lived a life of extreme poverty with the family who embraced her. , her marriage and the birth of this family, so she decided to do DNA tests and filed a complaint with the General Court in Mecca.
The girl got a court ruling attributing her to her real father, and she filed for moral and material damages after all these years, especially since she found out that her real mother had passed away. during this period and was deprived of seeing and caring for her.
The Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the General Court of Mecca, which included the error in replacing the complainant with another newborn, and in proving her parentage to her rightful father. the amount of 1.7 million riyals, as the difference in compensation is due to the difference in the extent of the damage inflicted on the two daughters.
