Egyptian artist Maher Selim has passed away from a battle with disease, leaving a large number of immortal works in the history of cinema and in the minds of his fans.
The artist, Mounir Makram, member of the Egyptian Union of Acting Professions, announced the news of the death, via his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook”, declaring: “Permanence is for God.
In a statement to the “Cairo 24” website, Makram said: “The funeral prayer will be held for the deceased today, Thursday, at the Sayeda Nafisa Mosque, after the midday prayer.”
It should be noted that Selim’s last work is the film “A Men’s Stand”, with Majid Al-Kadwany, Sayed Ragab, Bayoumi Fouad, Sherif Desouki and Mohamed Salam, and his role in this work was a great success which has won the admiration of the public and the critics.
