Today, Monday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the dispatch of emergency aid to Tunisia to help it cope with the worsening epidemiological crisis, including one million doses of vaccines against the Corona virus.
And the Saudi News Agency reported on directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz to urgently send medical and preventive supplies, which are helping to overcome the effects of the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), in response to demand. of Tunisian President Qais Saeed.
Aid mainly includes one million doses of coronavirus vaccine, 190 ventilators, 319 oxygen concentrators, 150 medical beds and 50 vital signs monitors with carts.
Aid also includes 4 million medical masks, 500,000 medical gloves, 180 pulse counters, 25 intravenous medication pumps, 9 electric discharge devices, 15 video laryngoscopes and 5 electrocardiographs.
The agency quoted adviser to Diwan Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, “The generous advice comes as an affirmation of the depth of the strong relationship that unites the leaders of the two countries.”
Arab countries like Qatar, Egypt, Emirates, Algeria, Kuwait and Libya, as well as Turkey, have announced urgent aid and vaccine shipments to support Tunisia given the worsening of the Corona epidemic and the rapid spread of infection by mutated strains.
Today Turkey sent a military plane loaded with 50,000 doses of vaccines, artificial respiration units, oxygen generators and various medical equipment and supplies.
Algeria also announced the dispatch tomorrow, Tuesday, of a plane loaded with 250,000 doses of vaccines, as well as numerous medical equipment.
The health crisis in Tunisia has left an average of more than 100 deaths per day, and record injuries for more than two weeks, reaching a maximum of around 10,000 injured in one day.
Public hospitals are under great pressure as most of them have reached capacity amid a severe shortage of oxygen, medical supplies and convalescent beds.
