Open WhatsApp on your Android smartphone and go to the Settings section.
Now click on Chats> Chat Backup> Backup to Google Drive.
You can also choose to manually back up your chats to Google Drive at any time.
Once you’ve chosen the backup frequency, select the Google Account where you want to back up your chat history. If you don’t have a signed in Google Account, you can click Add Account and enter your login credentials.
Now you need to click Save to choose the network you want to use for backups. It is better to backup using WiFi as the cellular data network may incur additional data charges.
Restore WhatsApp chats from Google Drive:
The process of restoring WhatsApp chats from Google Drive is straightforward and takes a few minutes. To restore chats, you must use the same phone number and Google account that you used to create the backup.
Just reinstall the WhatsApp app on your phone so you can restore chats through Google Drive. Open the WhatsApp app and verify your mobile number.
When prompted, click the Restore button to restore chats and media from Google Drive.
Once the restore process is complete, just click Next. Your chats will then be displayed once the configuration is complete.
