Sheikh of Al-Azhar calls for the development of education in the Arab world

Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, called for serious work on the development of education in the Arab world, to keep pace with successive challenges and developments, and that this be in accordance with calculated and studied plans which take into account the material and human capacities and the nature of Arab societies, so that development becomes desirable and effective and does not lead to problems that must be solved for years to resolve.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar underlined, during his meeting with Amjad Al-Adayleh, the Ambassador of Jordan in Cairo, yesterday, in the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, that Al-Azhar welcomes the request of the embassy to increase the number of scholarships and distribute them according to the specializations that Jordan needs from Al-Azhar, and that Al-Azhar wishes to develop scientific, religious and cultural relations with various Arab and Islamic countries.

For his part, the Ambassador of Jordan expressed his appreciation for Al-Tayeb’s response in terms of scholarships awarded to students of the Kingdom, and that the Embassy wishes to strengthen scientific and cultural cooperation with the Al-Azhar Foundation, which represents the school of Islam, enlightenment and moderation in the world, and that the efficiency of Al-Azhar graduates makes this institution a destination for all students of religious and applied sciences.
