Galaxies are 3 billion years old, but they are dead galaxies after running out of hydrogen, which is necessary for star formation.
These unusually dead galaxies, scientists say, date back billions of years after the Big Bang, when the cause of their death is still unknown, especially the secret to the disappearance of hydrogen from them.
