The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the start of the implementation of decisions to locate the activities of restaurants and cafes, and to locate supplies and central markets, from Saturday 02/25/1443 AH corresponding to 10/221 and the end of the grace period provided for the two decisions.

The ministry said these decisions stem from the ministry’s desire to provide new stimulating and productive employment opportunities to male and female citizens in various parts of the Kingdom, and to raise the level of their participation in the labor market in accordance with to the goals of the Vision of the Kingdom 2030.

She explained that the percentage of emiratization for restaurants (restaurants with service, banquet kitchens, fast food stores and juice shops) with independent or mixed buildings is 20%, and whether they are indoors. of complexes and shopping centers closed by 40%, with the exception of excluded professions; The percentage applies if there are 4 or more workers in a single shift inside the point of sale in all regions.

While the location percentage for cafes (serving drinks, ice cream parlors and ice cream) with independent or mixed buildings will be 30% of workers in all occupations except for excluded occupations, and cafes with complexes and closed shopping centers will be 50% in all occupations except excluded occupations; The percentage applies if there are two or more workers in a shift inside the point of sale in all regions. As for the traveling catering cars (ice cream cars, beverage vending cars, food vending cars), they will represent 100% of all workers and there are no exceptions. The percentage is fully applied to all regions.

The ministry indicated that the excluded activities include (cafeterias, food preparation and preparation or “catering” contractors, catering operators, canteens and cafeterias in factories, offices, hospitals and schools. , restaurants and cafes inside hotels, apartments and hotel villas); And that the excluded professions are (cleaning worker, loading and unloading worker), provided that their percentage of workers in the port does not exceed 20% in a team with a commitment to the uniform, and that the workman’s profession is written behind the uniform.

The decision to locate supplies and supermarkets included all supplies with an area of ​​not less than 300 square meters and supermarkets with an area of ​​not less than 500 square meters. In this (first) stage, the work in points of sale is limited to 100% of Saudis in the professions (client accountant, accountant fund manager, customer service “client / trust relations”), and the work in points of sale is limited to Saudis to 50% of the total number of employees. By profession (Department Supervisor). While the second phase, which begins in 6 months, plans to limit the work in points of sale to 100% of Saudis in the profession (section supervisor).
