A group of Facebook apps, including the popular photo-sharing platform Instagram and the WhatsApp messaging app, have stopped serving tens of thousands of users, according to service outage tracking website Downdetector. com.

Meanwhile, social media giant WhatsApp’s instant messaging platform also crashed to over 22,000 users, while Messenger dropped to nearly 3,000 users. Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.

WhatsApp tweeted: “We are aware that some people are currently having issues with WhatsApp. We are working to get things back to normal and will post an update here as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!”

According to “downdetector” which measures outages around the world, more people reported not being able to access Facebook products, and the following graph shows the rate of complaints about outages compared to a normal daily.
