Breast cancer drug increases the risk of infection!

Al-Wasat Journal – An Irish study found that a drug used to treat breast cancer by thousands of girls increases the risk of developing uterine cancer.

The researchers found that taking tamoxifen for 10 years instead of the main criterion for taking tamoxifen increased the risk of endometrial cancer in girls from 1.5% to 3.5%.

Previous research suggests that tamoxifen inhibits estrogen from stimulating breast cancer recovery. It can be given as a treatment or preventive medicine to people with a family history of the disease.

Although the drug obscures the work of estrogen in the breast tissue, it works as a hormone in the uterus, increasing the risk of cancer of its belly.

Researchers at St. Vincent Hospital in Dublin analyzed four studies examining the link between endometrial cancer in girls who took tamoxifen at 10 years.

The results published in the British Journal of Surgery also suggest that taking the drug at 5 years increases the risk by 2%.

According to the American Cancer Society, tamoxifen causes cancer of the uterus in about one in every 500 women.

The risk of endometrial cancer can be reduced when a breast cancer drug, tamoxifen, is maintained by maintaining a healthy weight, eating well, exercising regularly, and controlling the sugar level if necessary.

Signs include infection, abnormal bleeding in the absence of a menstrual cycle, unusual pelvic pain, difficulty in urinating, and pain during intercourse.
