With the approval of the High Commissioner, the sites of the rock drawings of Hail were inscribed on the World Heritage List at Ramadan 1436 AH / July 2015, to be the Kingdom's fourth place on the World Heritage List.
On 29/12/1435 AH, the Holy See approved the request of the Commission to register ten new sites on the World Heritage List: Oasis Al-Ahsa, Zubaydah Road , Haj Al-Shami Road, Al-Hajj Road, Al-Hijaz Railway, The most brilliant heritage men, and the village of Ain Heritage, and the rock art site in the well in the area of Najran, and the shield district of Jandal al-Jouf).
The Commission submitted a request to the UNESCO World Heritage Center through the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to FAO to register the 10 sites on the preliminary list with the Center.
The Commission began in 1436H (2015) work on the dossier of registration of Oasis Al-Ahsa, where a preliminary nomination file was drafted and submitted to UNESCO and a Oasis specialized office was contracted in addition to identifying the partners of the Authority. The Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Water, the Foundation for Irrigation and Drainage in Al-Ahsa and the Chamber of Commerce in the Governorate Al-Ahsa, as well as representatives of the local community.
After a number of deliberations with UNESCO specialists, the Commission chose a name for the Oasis file, Oasis Al Ahsa, a changing cultural scene.
The Commission then transferred the nomination of the Oasis Al-Ahsa site to the World Heritage Center in Rabee Thani 1438H (January 2017) The file was accepted after review and a copy of the file was sent to the International Council of Archaeologists. Field

Before the start of the crucial session, the President of the Commission made intensive contacts and contacts with the ministers of the participating countries to vote on the candidate sites, inform them of the site and the efforts made, and ask them to support the file. The participating countries promised to support the nomination of the file.

Al-Ahsa Oasis, the largest oasis in the world, has preserved its original geography, its economic and social functions as a major agricultural center of the Arabian Peninsula and an important economic center related to the rest of the Gulf and the world.
