The death of a young man (19 years), resulting from the inhalation of a deodorant in order to achieve an orgasm, highlights the uses of the solvent.
The young man – who was not named – reportedly lived in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, reportedly caused the death of his cardiac arrest, and was reported to have been a teenager during the rehabilitation period due to the use of hashish and ketamine.
Put a towel on his head and inhale a spray of deodorant spray, which can make people dizzy and happy quickly.
But he quickly became hyperactive and soon after he had a heart attack.
After the same young man stopped, he needed six cycles of defibrillation and was placed in the induced coma section of the ICU, but the doctors could not revive his heart.
His condition has not improved in intensive care, forcing paramedics to say that continuing to try to save him would be "futile".
"The misuse of volatile substances, one of the best known ways to achieve drug-free ecstasy," the researchers wrote in their report.
Volatile substances in odorous solvents can stop the heart and cause sudden death by sniffing.
It is estimated that inhalation would be responsible for 125 deaths per year in the United States and would be very popular among teenagers living in slums. According to the figures, 64 people reportedly died of solvent abuse in the UK in 2016.
"The main toxin in deodorant spray inhalation is butane," doctors said.
Butane is one of the commonly used hydrocarbons in household products that can be sprayed. The hydrocarbons are fat soluble, so that they easily cross the blood barrier and the cerebral blood barrier. Butane dissolves in fat-rich tissues such as the nervous system and Foie Gras tissues and kidneys.
Although their report deals only with isolated cases, deaths from inhalation of volatile substances have been known since 1975.
