CAF withdraws the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations from Cameroon

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided to withdraw the 2019 Nations Africa Cup of Cameroon because of the lack of response to the campaign book.

The report of the Technical Committee of the African Union on Cameroon's preparations for the tournament was very negative, saying that Cameroon was not ready to host the continental final.

The African Union (AU) has launched a new bid for a host country for the first summer edition with 24 teams.

The media have regularly reported that Morocco, which had lost its goal of organizing the 2026 World Cup against the United States, Mexico and Tripartite Canada, was the potential alternative to Cameroon to provide a huge infrastructure and security stability.
