The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced Monday that Sierra Leone will be officially excluded from the qualifiers of the 2019 Nations Africa Cup.
The CAF's decision was based on a similar decision by FIFA to exclude Sierra Leone from government interference.
A statement by KAF, which the Arab Maghreb News Agency has obtained a copy, said the Confederation had made the decision after the meeting of the Executive Committee held last Friday in the Ghanaian capital.
He added that the exclusion decision eliminated the results of Sierra Leone's two qualifiers, with the Group F standings: Kenya leading (7 points), Ghana (6 points) and the United States. Ethiopia (1 point).
The same group includes Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
Kenya and Ghana qualify for the finals of the 2019 Nations Africa Cup, which remains to be determined.
The list of teams qualified to date includes 15 teams – Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Madagascar, Cameroon, Mali, Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Guinea, Cote d Ivoire, Mauritania and Uganda.
CAF announced Friday the withdrawal of the organization of the African Nations Championship of Cameroon and set a deadline for the announcement of the new host country in late December.
