In his outreach letters, the ministry revealed the story of the mock study published in 1998, in which a physician named Andrew Wickfeld had asserted the existence of a relationship between autism and the MMR vaccine.
She said that in 2000, it was discovered that the study was falsified, that the license had been withdrawn and codified, and that the magazine "The Lancet" had published the study.
Later, more than 20 studies involving millions of children around the world have shown no association between the vaccine and autism.
The ministry pointed out that neglecting the vaccination of children could cause serious complications and recommended that the vaccine be taken for its safety and for its effective role in the prevention of measles.
