Chelsea beat Stamford Bridge 2-0 at home against Manchester City in the 16th round of the English Premier League.
Manchester City's first defeat in the league gave Liverpool a 1-0 lead over the Seitzans, while Chelsea jumped to third with 34 points.
Liverpool opened the tournament with a 4-0 win over Bournemouth in a match in which Egyptian star Mohamed Salah shone after scoring three goals in "hat trick".
Chelsea started the match with a team consisting of: Kepa – Azbilekwita – Rodiger – David Luiz – Alonso – Giorgio – Kanti – Kovacic – Willian – Hazard – Pedro.
While Manchester City started the match with a combination of: Ederson – Walker – Stones – Laporte – Dilf – Fernandino – David Silva – Riad Mehrez – Leroy Sani – Bernardo Silva – Rahim Stirling.

Manchester City threw its first threat after 15 minutes of play as Sani nearly scored the city's first goal after receiving a shot from inside the penalty box, Chelsea, but the opportunity was neat. Was not completed after an offense against David Louise.
Sani returned in the 31st minute after passing the ball to Bernardo Silva, but Chelsea defender Roderger stepped in to get the ball out of the box.
In the 45th minute, Kanti scored Chelsea's first goal after a brilliant pass from the Blues Hazard star, who was in the area to pass the ball to Kanti, who scored Chelsea's first goal.
