Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp did not doubt for a moment the abilities of his star, Mohammed Salah, who offered different levels at the start of the season.
The Egyptian international has stopped three times in a row before scoring a hat trick at Bournemouth on Saturday.
"I did not worry about Salah's level at the beginning of the season, I do not know exactly what people have written about it and I have no idea," said Klopp in a statement quoted by Xpress Monday.
"Any player must always develop, but the way a player scored 44 goals last season has evolved."
Salah broke out with the Reds in his first season with the team that scored 44 goals in 52 games.
"If he scored 10 goals in the first five games, everyone would say yes, it would happen again … if he finished the season with 39 goals, he would say yes, but he did not score 41 goals."
"We all have to learn how to handle this, and of course he is," he said.
The former top scorer of the Roma season rose to 10 in the English Premier League and dominated the scorers' standings.
Liverpool took advantage of Manchester City's stalemate against Chelsea and dominated the English first division by one point.
