300 days of clean energy .. a small country poised to become an environmental specialist

With the global trend of reducing reliance on fossil fuels and replacing it with clean energy sources, a small country in Central America has managed to achieve a "standard environmental figure".

The Independent newspaper said that Costa Rica was able to achieve a record in the field of the environment, having used clean energy for 300 consecutive days to produce electricity.

Costa Rica set another record in 2015, using only renewable energy for 299 days.

The country located between the Americas has been able to achieve this goal, while Western capitals are still debating the cost of clean energy and its impact on economic growth.

Hydropower accounts for 78 percent of Costa Rica's renewable energy, followed by wind and geothermal power, as well as bio and solar power.

According to the Costa Rican Electricity Institute, the record march began in early May 2018.

These clean energies allow the release of natural gas and other fossil fuels.

But this record only concerns a limited part, this achievement relates to electricity and cars are not covered by the completion, and the fuel is still a source of 70%.
