Books – Mohamed Mustafa:
Hussein Al-Shahat, a United Arab Emirates player for Al Ain, confirmed that the three-goal delay was pure on his side and in front of the public, a very difficult situation.
Al Ain returned from a 3-0 draw in Wellington, New Zealand, before the penalty shootout qualified the UAE team for the second round of the World Cup.
After the match, Hussein Al-Shahat told BBC Sport that the first goal scored by Japan's Tsukasa Shotani in the 45th minute after the end of the first half gave hope to his eyes and gave a boost to players.
Al-Shahat added: "We have already been exposed to such positions and we have engaged as players between the two stages of the match to come back and draw."
Al Ain will play against Tunisian Esperance on Dec. 15 in the second round, qualifying for the semifinals of the World Cup.
