The release of South Africa from the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 could mean that South Africa is the best candidate to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Moroccan Minister of Sports told AFP on Wednesday that his country did not plan to participate in the tournament after his withdrawal from Cameroon.
South Africa is now the best candidate for the tournament after Morocco's withdrawal, but it can face competition from Egypt if it presents a case.
Egypt has officially announced Thursday its intention to submit the record of the organization of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations next summer.
And the deadline for submission of the file organization at 22:00 GMT Friday, to choose the winner of the file on January 7.
South Africa has already organized the tournament twice in 1996, won by Bafana Bafana and 2013, organized by Libya and won by Nigeria.
