Mozilla has installed the beta version of Firefox 65 on Android, a much-awaited feature: support for WebP images.

For those who do not know, WebP is an image format developed by Google, based primarily on the VP8 video codec used by WebM, which supports harmless compression, which makes it competitive with common formats such as JPEG and PNG.

This format has been available on Chrome since 2011, and its arrival on Firefox is better than ever. Finally, as we noted, the update is available on the experimental channel. You can download it here or download it with its APK file from here.
