CAIRO (Reuters) – Egypt has officially declared its bid to host the 2019 African Cup of Nations after the tournament's withdrawal from Cameroon, and Morocco apologized for hosting the tournament.
The Egyptian federation has posted a tweet via its official page on Twitter: "Officially, Egypt postulates for the organization of African nations," he said.
"The Egyptian Football Federation has officially submitted a candidacy to the African Football Confederation to hold the African Nations Championship scheduled for June."
The African Union had decided to withdraw Cameroon's tournament organization a few months before its launch, and Morocco apologized for its organization, which allowed Egypt to submit this application.
The last African championship organized by Egypt dates back to 2006 and the Pharaohs won the championship title, which was the fifth in their history.
