Egyptian basketball legend Medhat Warda confirmed that Al Ahly had shown interest in signing his son, Amr Warda, a Greek player.
"A mediator between me and Ahli's board members said the decision was up to Amr," Warda told One radio.
The basketball star pointed out that his son had confirmed that he would return to Egypt, he would play Ahli.
"But it seems to me that he wants to continue in Europe because he has not achieved his goal."
"Amr was about to join the French club Reims, but the club was blocked by pressure from fans."
"Amr m said he wanted to join one of the top four clubs in the French league, and I was not convinced he would refuse."
"In the last game for the first time, I was happier with his performance for a long time," said Medhat Warda, who changed the game for his team when he arrived in the second half.
