The King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), north of Jeddah, completed the first phase of the construction and development of the Laguna circuit.
The approximate cost of the project is 120 million riyals, including the construction of stands and more than 13 major racetracks and karting, the administrative and hospitality building, main platform for senior guests and facilities of Training for motor racing and motorcycles, as well as the preparation of the project with the latest advanced means for organizing international races.
The first phase was completed by the use of imported machinery and equipment for this sports project to meet the latest international standards, in accordance with the requirements and standards of the International Automobile Federation.
The project aims to develop the sport of racing and motorcycle among Saudi youth, to become a leading tourist and leisure destination and an international sports incubator in the entertainment and tourism sector, to invest in young people talents and diversify national sources of income.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal laid the foundation stone of the Laguna circuit for motor racing in April.
