Fish oil, vitamin D and all other minerals, vitamins and herbs have been described as having many health benefits. However, these statements are opposed to certain medical opinions, which call into question the usefulness of these supplements, as well as the emergence of certain economic articles, which indicate in one way or another that the promotion of these products is a purely commercial process aimed at maximizing the profits of the companies that produce them.

However, recent studies have recently highlighted the importance and health benefits of supplements such as omega-3 and vitamin D, according to Al Arabia, citing Care2.

A recent study, published in New England, showed a research paper presented by Dr. Joan Manson, head of preventive medicine at Brigham & Weymen Hospital of the American Society of Cardiology. The main conclusions are:

1. Vitamin D reduces cancer mortality.

2. Fatty acids, called omega-3s, reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and death following a heart attack.

Other laboratory experiments have confirmed the existence of promising effects to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke related to taking vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. 3.

Vitamin D and cancer

Vitamin D was considered an effective dietary supplement in the prevention of cancer. Indeed, laboratory studies have shown that this belief is true for scientific reasons: vitamin D limits the spread of cells, a factor in the severity of cancer and death. Observational and statistical data also revealed that people with vitamin D deficiency were at higher risk of developing cancer.

Reduce mortality

Despite these exciting findings and observations, research still needs to prove that vitamin D prevents cancer. The results were limited to showing that vitamin D reduced cancer death rates.

The team expects to announce more promising results within six months, noting that the risk of cancer deaths has been reduced by 25% among respondents, over a five-year period, due to taking vitamin D supplements

Omega 3 for the heart and the brain

Scientific research has not conclusively demonstrated that Omega 3 effectively limits general cardiovascular disease. But until now, experiments have shown that omega-3s help in particular to reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction and heart attacks.

Indeed, the results of the study showed a risk of heart attack 28% lower than that of patients on placebo or vitamin D. They were also less likely to die of a heart attack.

Heart attacks and strokes

In another group, the incidence of a heart attack or stroke in people who consumed a pure form of omega-3, called ethosaphenylethyl, was significantly lower.

The study included trials and statistics covering more than 8,000 people with a history of heart attack or stroke, as well as severe atherosclerosis or hardening of the blood vessels.

The results of the study are as follows:

• Reduce the risk of death from heart problems by 20%.

• A 31% reduction in the risk of heart attack.

• 28% less risk of stroke than those taking a placebo.
