Manchester United has announced the appointment of the first Norwegian team Gunnar Solskjaer as a temporary technical coach until the end of the season, succeeding Jose Mourinho, who had been sacked yesterday.
The club had announced yesterday that former Norwegian striker Gunnar Solskjaer would take over the reins of the team before retiring and suppressing the information.
Solskjaer defended Manchester United from 1996 to 2007 and won 10 titles for the first team in the 1999 trilogy and scored the murderous goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
He has worked as a coach for Manchester United, his Norwegian team and Cardiff City.
Manchester United yesterday announced the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, just days after a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield and the team slipped to sixth place in the English Premier League standings after 17 rounds.
