French coach Zinedine Zidane has received an offer to take over Manchester United, replacing Jose Mourinho, who was fired Tuesday, media reported Wednesday.
The Spanish newspaper "AS" indicated that Zidane had not yet responded to the English offer but had confirmed that he was nevertheless considering forming an English Premier League club.
Edward Zardan, managing director of Manchester United, asked Zidane to take up the challenge of training the English Premier League. "Zizou is ready to accept the challenge, although he prefers to replace it in June, not now," he said.
Zidane was hoping to coach Juventus or the French team, but his dream is far from being realized for now or in the short term, Massimiliano Alegre doing well at the helm of the Italian club. Deschamps won the World Cup title, which allowed him to continue to coach the Duke longer.
The British betting company William Hill had wagered the technical mission of Zidane to 3 euros for each euro bet on the odds.
