Barcelona has issued an official statement on the state of defender Samuel Ommetti after returning from Qatar this morning after a treatment trip after a knee injury.
According to the official site of the Catalan giants Sunday, the French player underwent complete medical tests in his left knee under the supervision of Barcelona medical staff.
The defender spent a 20-day treatment period in the Qatari capital of Doha at the Aspetar treatment center for knee ligament injury during his participation in the Spanish league championship Atletico Madrid.
The doctors decided to let the 25-year-old man maintain his knee, but inside the sports city at the Catalan club's headquarters from 30 December.
Frequent Omtite cartilage injuries have been eliminated from Blaugrana, with just eight games this season, including seven in the Spanish league and one in the Champions League.
Barcelona recently joined Colombian defender Jason Morio of Valencia to compensate for the repeated absence of Ommetti and Vermaelen due to injuries.
