Slovenian coach Nicola as coach of the Ahli team for the end of the season

Raouf Abdelkader, general manager of Al Ahli's sports activities, said that an agreement had been reached with Slobodan Nikola Markovic to assume the duties of technical director of the club's first handball team during the next period.

Abdelkader said in a statement posted on the official website of Al Ahly that the club had studied more than a biography of foreign coaches and that it had been filtered for Markovic's selection in because of his exceptional abilities and his previous work in the Arab region, particularly with the Kuwait and UAE teams.

He pointed out that the contract for the new coach is expanding until the end of the season and is expected to arrive in Cairo on Thursday to formally sign contracts and take over.

At its last meeting, the board of directors thanked former technical director Assam Hammad, and the appointment of a foreign technical director of the team was settled.
