British scientists promote virtual reality technology to detect cancer

A group of scientists from the University of Cambridge in Britain has developed a three-dimensional model of cancer using virtual reality technology, which helps in the early detection of the disease.
It is based on a sample of the tumor, taken from a patient, in detail and from all angles, with a map for each cell, according to the BBC.
The researchers began taking a sample of breast cancer tissue, measuring 1 million cubic meters, containing 100,000 cancer cells, then used the scanner and reconstructed the so-called reconstruction.
This technique allows specialists to examine more than one tumor from around the world.
"Nobody has examined the geography of the tumor at this level of detail before, it's a new way of looking at cancer," said Greg Hannon, director of the Cambridge Institute's Institute for Cancer Research.
