Saudi Olympic Committee President Turki Al-Sheikh officially resigned on Thursday.
Official report of the Saudi Olympics on Twitter: "The adviser, Mr. Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh, chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Olympic Committee, officially resigned Thursday night from his duties."
"The extraordinary General Assembly will be invited to elect a chairman of the board of directors," said the Saudi Olympic organization.
The royal decree was issued on Thursday, exempting Turki Al-Sheikh from the post of president of the Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia, to assume the presidency of entertainment.
